The object still carries the evidence.
That is the difference.
Before, the object pointed toward the truth.
Now, the object carries the truth required to verify it.
Before, the platform said:
“Trust me. I remember.”
Now the object says:
“Do not trust anyone. Check me.”
This changes the location of authority.
Authority used to live outside the thing.
It lived in the server.
It lived in the database.
It lived in the account.
It lived in the company.
It lived in the institution.
Now authority comes from the evidence carried by the object itself.
The company can still help.
It can display the object.
It can send the object.
It can organize the object.
It can make the object easier to find.
But the company no longer gets to decide whether the settled evidence is true.
The helper is no longer the ruler.
The shelf is no longer the book.
The museum is no longer the painting.
The warehouse is no longer the package.
The app is no longer the object.
This matters because companies disappear.
Servers break.
Accounts get banned.
Passwords get lost.
Databases get changed.
Platforms rewrite rules.
Institutions make mistakes.
Sometimes they lie.
Sometimes they fail.
Sometimes they simply stop existing.
A real object should not forget what it is because the company that displayed it went away.
A real author should not lose authorship because an account was deleted.
A real history should not vanish because a database went offline.
A settled fact should not become false because someone unplugged a machine.
That was the old digital world.
Everything depended on a keeper.
