This articulates something I've been trying to put into wrds for years. The transactional framing of modern relationships really does strip away the mystery and spontaneity that makes connection meaningful. When every interaction becomes a cost benfit analysis, both sides end up feeling commodified. Its fascinating how the very tools meant to give us more choice have actually narrowed our capacity for genuine intimacy.

Love how you put this. 🙏🏽

That’s exactly what I was trying to name — once love gets framed as a series of optimizations and “cost-benefit” moves, both people end up feeling like products on a shelf instead of souls choosing each other. The mystery isn’t an optional extra, it is the signal.

What gives me hope is that so many of us are feeling this ache at the same time and saying, “nah, this isn’t it.” I’m going to keep mapping the math + stories of how we get back to covenant, safety, and real intimacy — would love to hear more of what you’ve seen/experienced around this too. 💛

Yes this resonates so much. I see the young ones like my 15yo son struggling especially hard because all they see on social media are images of money and success and they compare themselves negatively to that facade.

Ahh, I feel this so much. 🙏🏽 The system is teaching kids to measure their worth against a filtered highlight reel, then blaming them for feeling like they don’t measure up. Your son isn’t broken — the metric is. Part of why I’m writing this is exactly for him and his generation, to give language + tools to build identity on character, courage, and covenant instead of follower counts and flex posts. Thank you for seeing it and speaking up as a mom. 💛

Reciprocity is a thing. May I ask why you chose that particulate illustration for this post?

Good catch on reciprocity 🙏

The image is just the emblem I use for this series — a simple way of marking “this is part of the bigger conversation about restoring real, mutual love instead of pure transaction.” I wanted the heavy lifting in this one to be done by the words themselves.

Thank you for your explanation. I think with current events the brain makes certain connections. And as a woman and a mother… you’re talking about relationships, but the picture is of a man and a very young girl. If we’re talking about what a father should teach his daughter about relationships and what they should look like when she becomes an adult then that makes sense. I’m not trying to insinuate anything. It just kind of brought up a red flag for me and that may be from my own experience and observations. I’m not trying to insinuate that you are a bad person. I’m just trying to understand the connection for you.

As for the content of your post…. I find your writing content to be insightful and thought provoking.

Look its the exact same image I didn’t make it up I used it as an example of what’s out there

Stop being a weirdo the picture is from the Instagram post floating around with this exact picture telling girls that love is how much money he can spend on you and if he can’t spend then he don’t love you and it’s a father and daughter. The fact your mind went their shows you need to go clean your spirit.

I will totally admit to being a weirdo. 😂 and I don’t think it has anything to do with me needing to clean my spirit. I would love to be able to wash away the perceptions that my experience in the world has shaped. Unfortunately.

However, I’m a grown-up who has done a lot of work, and part of that work is not jumping to conclusions and asking for clarification. Which is why I asked you for clarification and communicate communicated to you why I was asking for it.

I’m not here to argue with you. I was just trying to understand you. It is important to realize that people will not always perceive things in the way that we meant for it to be perceived. People who ask for clarification are the people who to keep around. Versus people who jump to conclusions and hold onto those conclusions as if they are clinging to a big floating door in the middle of a freezing ocean.

And now you have clarified. Thank you.

As far as where the picture came from…. Throughout history, women and girls have been treated as property and treated as something that had monetary value. And unfortunately, there is a mindset of that still in the world. It is an age old mindset that has been instilled in society. And it’s wrong.

A man’s worth should not lie exclusively on his ability to provide monetarily.

It’s unfortunate. That money is what makes the world go round. And it is what has steered us into the current predicament that we are in now.

We could have a giant conversation about this and all its many layers but that could take quite some time.

I’m not trying to pick an argument with you. And I follow you because as I said before, what you write his thought-provoking and I value thought-provoking.

To wrap up, I did not mean to offend you. And I apologize if it came across that way.

But on the topic of me being a weirdo. You are entirely correct. I am quite a weirdo, and I’m OK with that.

Fiat money isn’t real. Once yall “grown ups” stop sucking off your masters with their debt backed coupons and realize breath backed currency already works and is far superior the real weirdos the ones violating every man women and children on this planet with their debt backed necromancy will meet their end. If people just say oh that’s just the way it is they will continue to rape our world and our people. Babylon ain’t gunna save anyone from Babylon and they certainly aren’t gunna admit on cnn that breath backed currency already works and is superior but their AIs do.

I believe you. Thank you for sharing that. I will totally look into it. The current world sickens me to my very core. The ugliness of humans that they used to be ashamed of and hid, and now are openly showing to the world without shame.
