How a rejected applicant who never paid me became a “victim,” how an anonymous accusation became a searchable verdict, and why the internet must stop treating unsupported posts as authenticated history
I have had enough.
Not of criticism.
Not of disagreement.
Not of people disliking me, my personality, my language, my theology, my work, my companies, or my conclusions.
I have had enough of a civilization that permits an anonymous representation to outrank the living source—and then calls that arrangement truth.
6 Years ago, an anonymous Reddit account published a post titled:
“MARKETING SCAM — BJ KLOCK — ADVISIGHT.”

That headline has since been cited by strangers as a “review,” a “receipt,” and supposed proof that I committed fraud.
But the person did not purchase a service from me.
They did not pay me.
They were not a customer reporting work that was purchased and never delivered.
They were not accepted to work with us.
According to my records and firsthand knowledge of the event, a person working for me declined to move forward with them. They became upset about that decision and transformed their rejection into a public accusation against me and my company.
That is the underlying event.
No payment.
No customer transaction.
No purchased campaign.
No undelivered service.
No refund request.
No documented financial loss.
No judgment.
No authenticated finding of fraud.
Yet the Reddit title declared “scam” as though a crime had already been established.
That distinction is everything.
A Rejected Applicant Is Not a Defrauded Customer
Let us establish the factual structure plainly.
This person never paid me.
They did not purchase a service.
They did not enter into a completed customer relationship with me.
They did not pay for deliverables that I later failed to provide.
They did not lose money to me.
They were declined by someone working for me.
After that rejection, they went to Reddit and placed my real name and my company’s name beneath a categorical accusation of fraud.
That is not a customer review.
It is not a victim report.
It is not evidence of a failed transaction.
It is an accusation made by someone who never became a customer.
Years later, strangers still discover the title and cite it as though it were an authenticated business record.
They do not ask whether the author paid me.
They do not ask whether any service was purchased.
They do not ask whether anything was promised and withheld.
They do not ask whether any financial loss occurred.
They see the word “scam”, see my name beside it, and inherit the conclusion.
That is not investigation.
That is search-engine conditioning.
The Accusation Became Its Own Evidence
The logic is circular:
Someone anonymously calls a person a scammer.
Reddit publishes the accusation.
Search engines preserve and index it.
Another person discovers it years later.
That person says, “There are reports that he is a scammer.”
Other people cite that repetition as corroboration.
The accused person is told to disprove an allegation that was never proven in the first place.
No independent evidence enters the loop.
No victim appears.
No payment appears.
No loss appears.
No judgment appears.
There are only more people repeating the original allegation.
The accusation becomes evidence of itself.
That is how anonymous internet folklore becomes a counterfeit public record.
The Title Did What the Evidence Could Not
The title caused the damage.
Most readers will not reconstruct the event.
They will not ask whether money changed hands.
They will not distinguish between someone who was rejected and someone who paid for a service.
They will not demand a contract, transaction record, campaign agreement, payment confirmation, proof of loss, refund request, or finding by any competent authority.
They see:
MARKETING SCAM — BJ KLOCK — ADVISIGHT
And the representation installs itself in their mind.
The title reaches judgment before the underlying facts ever reach examination.
There is no courtroom.
There is no sworn testimony.
There is no evidentiary procedure.
There is no cross-examination.
There is no requirement that the accuser identify themselves publicly.
There is no meaningful opportunity for the accused person to place a complete answer beside the accusation with equal visibility.
There is simply an anonymous headline, permanently associated with an identifiable person.
The accusation receives indexing.
The accused person receives years of invisible consequences.
Reddit Hosted a Statement; It Did Not Establish a Fact
Reddit allows pseudonymous users to publish claims, stories, opinions, accusations, interpretations, and personal narratives.
Some are true.
Some are false.
Some are incomplete.
Some are honest misunderstandings.
Some are retaliation.
Some are deliberate fabrications.
Some come from real victims.
Others come from people who were never customers, never paid, never lost anything, and were simply angry about an interaction.
Reddit does not authenticate every factual allegation before publication.

Those rules govern use of the platform.
They do not certify that every surviving post is true.
Reddit did not interview me.
Reddit did not inspect our business records.
Reddit did not establish that the author paid me.
Reddit did not find a fraudulent representation.
Reddit did not establish financial loss.
Reddit did not adjudicate a dispute.
Reddit hosted a statement.
Those are profoundly different things.
I Contacted the Moderator
After the post had already damaged me reputationally and, in my experience, financially, I attempted to contact a moderator connected to the community.
My understanding of the community’s rules was that names of individuals or companies were not supposed to be placed in titles in that manner.
Yet my real name and my company’s name had been placed directly beneath a categorical accusation of “scam.”
I contacted the moderator because the platform had permitted an anonymous person who never paid me to create a searchable accusation against my real identity.
According to the messages I preserved, the moderator did not neutrally review the event, the evidence, the title, or the applicable rules.
He called me “creepy” for contacting him through Instagram.
He asked why my “panties were in a bunch.”
That response reveals the structural inversion.
An anonymous user could publicly associate my real name with fraud.
I, the identifiable person absorbing the consequences, was treated as suspicious for trying to reach an accountable human being.
The accusation was considered normal.
My objection was treated as the misconduct.
The anonymous author was permitted to create the representation.
The living subject of the representation was mocked for reporting the damage.
I am presenting this as my firsthand account of the interaction. The complete messages, screenshots, dates, usernames, surrounding conversation, and rules in effect at the time should be preserved and reviewed in their full context.
Why Were My “Panties in a Bunch”?
Because this was not harmless entertainment.
My real name was tied to a public accusation of fraud.
My company was named.
The accusation became searchable.
Strangers encountered the label without knowing the underlying event.
Potential partners, customers, financial institutions, service providers, investors, employers, and ordinary observers could see the accusation before ever seeing my work.
A person who never paid me was allowed to occupy the position of a defrauded customer.
And when I objected, I was treated as though caring about my reputation was itself evidence against me.
That is grotesque.
Reputation affects access to commerce.
It affects partnerships.
It affects banking and payment relationships.
It affects investment.
It affects housing, employment, insurance, customer trust, and basic human relationships.
An anonymous statement can be written in minutes.
The person named may spend years paying for it.
The moderator did not have to accept everything I said without examination.
But mocking me for reporting serious reputational harm was not an investigation.
It was contempt for a cost he did not have to carry.
Reddit Is a Database of Statements, Not a Database of Truth
That sentence should appear above every Reddit search result.
Reddit is a database of statements, not a database of truth.
Reddit contains truthful reports.
It contains false reports.
It contains careful analysis.
It contains unsupported accusations.
It contains whistleblowing.
It contains fan fiction written about living people.
It contains expert knowledge.
It contains confident ignorance.
It contains firsthand witnesses.
It contains people pretending to possess firsthand knowledge.
All of these appear inside nearly identical visual containers.
The same username format.
The same voting system.
The same comment interface.
The same typography.
The same platform authority.
A truthful statement and a fabricated statement can look almost identical on the screen.
The interface cannot establish which is true.
Upvotes cannot establish which is true.
A moderator leaving a post online cannot establish which is true.
That requires evidence.
Popularity Is Not Authentication
Reddit’s voting structure measures audience response.
It does not measure factual accuracy.
A dramatic claim may receive attention because it is emotionally satisfying.
A sarcastic comment may rise because it is funny.
A narrative may spread because it confirms what readers already believe.
None of that proves the underlying event.
A thousand upvotes cannot prove that a payment occurred.
A popular comment cannot prove that someone suffered a loss.
A moderator’s approval cannot establish fraud.
A subreddit’s name cannot authenticate an anonymous author.
A story becoming searchable does not make it true.
Reddit has itself confronted the consequences of crowds converting speculation into accusation. During the public response to the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing, online users wrongly identified people as suspects, demonstrating how quickly collective speculation can become harmful certainty.

The permanent lesson should have been obvious:
A crowd can amplify a claim much faster than anyone can verify it.
Anonymous Speech Is Not the Enemy
Anonymity itself is not the enemy.
Anonymous speech can protect whistleblowers, vulnerable people, employees facing retaliation, victims reporting abuse, and individuals speaking against powerful institutions.
But anonymity cannot simultaneously function as protection from accountability and as proof that an accusation is true.
An anonymous author may be correct.
An anonymous author may possess evidence.
An anonymous author may expose something important.
But anonymity is not the evidence.
The existence of the post is not the evidence.
The number of replies is not corroboration.
The subreddit name is not adjudication.
A serious allegation must still be evaluated through substance:
Who is making the claim?
What exactly happened?
When did it happen?
Was there a transaction?
Was money exchanged?
What was promised?
What was purchased?
What was delivered?
What was allegedly withheld?
What loss occurred?
What records authenticate the account?
Was the accused person shown the complete allegation?
Was the accused person given a meaningful opportunity to respond?
Without those elements, “I saw it on Reddit” means only that someone typed it.
A Reddit Post Is Not a Receipt
People now call screenshots, comments, and allegations “receipts.”
But a receipt documents an event.
A Reddit post documents that somebody made a statement.
Those are not interchangeable.
A real receipt ordinarily identifies:
an issuer;
a recipient or transaction;
a date;
an amount;
an item or service;
and a relationship to the event it represents.
An anonymous accusation may identify none of those things.
The Reddit thread about me does not prove that its author paid me.
They did not.
It does not prove that they purchased a service.
They did not.
It does not prove that I withheld paid work.
There was no paid work to withhold.
It does not establish a financial loss.
No money was transferred to me.
Calling that thread a “receipt” is not merely imprecise slang.
It is a category error with real consequences.
The Moderator Problem
Many subreddit moderators are volunteers rather than judges, investigators, journalists, lawyers, or trained evidentiary specialists.
That does not make moderators inherently malicious.
Many do difficult, unpaid work maintaining large communities.
But society must stop confusing moderation with adjudication.
A moderator can decide whether a post fits a community.
A moderator can remove spam.
A moderator can enforce formatting rules.
A moderator can ban users.
A moderator cannot establish fraud merely by leaving an accusation online.
The distinction between content moderation and fact-finding has disappeared in public perception.
A post survives moderation, so readers assume it survived investigation.

The Stranger Who Cited It Years Later
Years after the original Reddit post, another person entered a public discussion concerning my current work.
The original subject was straightforward.
I had built offline-verifiable proof objects.
The technology could be tested.
A person could record or receive an object, disconnect from the internet, run a verifier, inspect its provenance, and determine whether the proof held without trusting me, Reddit, a corporation, or a central server.
Instead of testing the object, this commenter searched my name.
He discovered the Reddit accusation.
Then he treated a post written by a non-customer as more meaningful than the functioning system directly in front of him.
That is the entire civilizational problem in miniature.
The representation over the source.
The rumor over the operation.
The review over the result.
The anonymous stranger over the object.
The searchable accusation over independently verifiable proof.
He demanded that I prove my character while refusing to run a verifier designed specifically to eliminate the need for personal belief.
He did not expose my work.
He demonstrated why it had to be built.
Why Receiz Exists
Receiz exists because claims should be capable of carrying proof.
An object should be able to carry:
authorship;
provenance;
ownership;
state;
history;
continuity;
and the evidence necessary for independent verification.
Verification should not require:
believing the creator;
trusting a search engine;
accepting a platform’s authority;
relying upon a moderator;
counting likes;
consulting anonymous gossip;
or asking an institution which version of reality it prefers.
A proof object can be tested.
An anonymous Reddit accusation ordinarily cannot.
That does not mean every sealed claim is automatically true.
It means the signatures, provenance, state transitions, ownership history, and continuity can be inspected under explicit rules.
The difference is accountability.
The proof object identifies what it asserts and carries material by which the assertion may be evaluated.
The anonymous post asks readers to inherit its conclusion without access to the event.
Do Not Believe Me
This is the part critics continue to miss.
I am not asking anyone to believe me because I am BJ Klock.
Do not believe me.
Run the offline verifier.
Inspect the object.
Check the signatures.
Examine the provenance.
Review the ownership history.
Attempt to falsify it.
Document the failure if it fails.
That is the standard.
Reddit culture asks:
Which narrative do you believe?
Proof asks:
What can be independently demonstrated?
Those are not the same standard.
They do not produce the same society.
The Burden Must Return to the Accuser
A person making a serious factual allegation should be prepared to establish it.
Not by saying, “Google him.”
Not by linking to another allegation.
Not by pointing to replies beneath the original accusation.
Not by claiming that the accused person objected too forcefully.
Present the event.
Present the evidence.
Present the transaction.
Present the promised obligation.
Present the failure.
Present the loss.
Authenticate the records.
Permit a direct response.
Until then, describe the statement accurately:
It is an unverified allegation.
A person should not be required to prove the nonexistence of every story that anyone could anonymously invent.
That burden is logically impossible.
The accuser must establish the accusation.
The accused person’s anger does not establish guilt.
The accused person’s silence does not establish guilt.
The accused person’s success does not establish innocence.
The accused person’s unpopularity does not establish guilt.
The evidence must establish the event.
What I Am Doing Now
I am preserving the complete record.
That includes:
the original Reddit post;
archived copies where available;
the title and body of the post;
the applicable subreddit rules;
moderator communications;
evidence that the author never paid me;
records concerning why the person was declined;
evidence of financial or commercial harm;
later republications and repetitions;
dates, URLs, screenshots, usernames, and surrounding context;
and identifying information that may be lawfully obtained through proper legal process.

I am evaluating legal remedies with qualified counsel concerning the original publication, its continued distribution, subsequent republication, and any damages that can be proven.
I will not claim that a specific lawsuit has already been filed unless and until a complaint has actually been filed with a court.
I will not casually describe a matter as a “class action” unless counsel determines that a legally cognizable class exists and that the procedural requirements can be satisfied.
But this will no longer be ignored.
Anyone who continues republishing factual accusations should understand the difference between discussing the existence of an allegation and presenting an unproven allegation as an established fact.

Dates are being preserved.
Exact wording is being preserved.
Distribution is being preserved.
The record matters.
This Is Larger Than Me
The same architecture can destroy anyone.
A rejected applicant can call a company fraudulent.
A former friend can rewrite a relationship.
A competitor can pose as a customer.
A stranger can fabricate firsthand knowledge.
A coordinated group can manufacture apparent consensus.
An angry prospect can present themselves as a victim.
At the same time, a truthful whistleblower may be dismissed because the platform has trained society to see all anonymous allegations as structurally similar.
The system harms both the falsely accused and the genuine victim.
When provenance disappears, truth and fabrication arrive wearing the same uniform.
That is not justice.
That is epistemic negligence.
Stop Quoting Reddit as Authority
A Reddit post can be a lead.
It can be a claim worth investigating.
It can contain evidence.
It can direct readers toward authentic records.
But Reddit itself is not authority.
The mere existence of a thread proves only that a thread exists.
Anyone citing Reddit to make a factual accusation against a living person should be prepared to authenticate the underlying claim.
Ask:
Did the author participate in the event?
Can their identity be established privately through lawful means?
Did money change hands?
Are there original records?
Can the accused person answer the complete allegation?
Does the evidence establish the conclusion?
Without those questions, citing Reddit is not research.
It is outsourcing judgment to an anonymous interface.
The Final Record
Here is what remains when the noise is removed.
A person who never paid me was declined by someone working for me.
An anonymous Reddit post subsequently placed my name and company beneath a categorical accusation of “scam.”
That post did not establish a paid transaction.
It did not establish an undelivered purchased service.
It did not establish a financial loss.
It did not establish a legal finding of fraud.
When I sought moderator attention after experiencing harm, I say I was mocked, called “creepy,” and asked why my “panties were in a bunch.”
Years later, strangers continue citing the thread as though it were authenticated history.
Meanwhile, the work they attempt to discredit can be tested directly without trusting me.
That contrast is the entire case.
Reddit says:
Someone claimed it.
Receiz asks:
Can the claim prove itself?
I know which world I am building.
I am finished allowing anonymous representations to quietly impersonate truth.
Do not believe me.
Run the verifier.
Inspect the record.
Authenticate the claim.
Or stop calling gossip evidence.
